Week 3 The Moon

What did you do in the lab today?

- Talked about the phases of the moon

- How the rotation of the sun affects the Earth

- How the Summer and Solar solstice work

- The Earth rotates counterclockwise, the Sun rises in the East and Sun sets in the West

- The revolution and the rotation are 28 days  - we have never seen the dark side of the Moon from Earth

- There are 10 phases of my moon

Takes it from New Moon to a Quarter is 7 days

For the hands-on experiment, we learned that thickness is the key to the experiment

What was the big question?

How does the Moon affect Earth? What's so special about the Moon?

What did you learn in Thursday’s discussion?

Read the online textbook

What did you learn?

What was most helpful?

Getting to see the visual example of the tidal locking works as the Moon orbits Earth was really cool, and helpful.

What do you need more information on?

I am still kind of confused on how the phases of the moon happen.

5. What questions, concerns, and/or comments do you have?

Will we keep going over the phases of the moon?
